MERCEDES
The first Mercedes truck was delivered to London in 1896. Later, this "Motorized Cargo Vehicle" was seen on the streets of Paris. This truck, which has a carrying capacity of 600 kilograms, had a 2-cylinder engine producing 4 horsepower. Two years later, the model with a carrying capacity of 5 tons was introduced. In 1913, military vehicles were needed due to the First World War. For this reason, a truck was produced specially for the German army that consumes crude oil fuel and produces 45 horsepower which is the ancestor of today's diesel engines. In 1926, new types of motor vehicles became widespread in Europe and this year the first truck with the name Mercedes-Benz was produced. In 1939, with the impact of the Second World War, the variety of models of Mercedes-Benz trucks decreased significantly.
During these years, Mercedes-Benz focused on developing aircraft engines for the German army. After the war ended, Mercedes-Benz, which played a major role in the rebuilding of Germany, produced the L3250 and L3500 models in 1949. In the 1960s, the design of Mercedes-Benz trucks changed dramatically by producing more angular models. In 1973, the first of the "modern" trucks used today was produced. The famous "Actros" was introduced in 1996 and "Atego" was introduced in 1998. Today, Mercedes-Benz trucks are among the most preferred heavy vehicles in the world.
